Michelle Stanley (Chair of Governors)
Michelle Stanley, first joined Norlington as a Co-opted Governor in 2013 and currently serves as the Chair of Local Governing Body. She brings a wide range of experience in education to the role in addition to her experience as a governor. Michelle began her career as an English teacher in a secondary school and has since held various roles, including leader, literacy specialist, school improvement advisor, and senior officer. She has worked across both primary and secondary phases, for local authorities, and within the Department for Education, where she spent a year on secondment as the Academy School Improvement Expert for the Regional School Commissioner at the time. She is passionate about education and is delighted to be part of the Governing body at Norlington School and 6th Form. As a resident of Waltham Forest, she views this role as an important opportunity to contribute to the local community.
